Just thought I'd share this Poem and Image with you. It just turned up as Poems do.
The wind comes to play
and though it's life times presence along with the Sun
has etched my face into
troughs and valleys, even some canyons
I still love the feel of life moving over my skin.
And though I have always hated
the way it messes up my hair
today it's just the wind and me.
So, blow and mess away
for there are loved ones now long gone
who I know would love to feel
the touch of the wind at play.

I realise I inherited a sense of panic when big windy days come from my mother who doesn't get it from hers who loved to sit by the sea and "have a good bit blow".
It is still like a fridge here and more to come, oh warmth where are you.
I decided at new year I would share more with people and not just keep my work in boxes for some future time. So, as another way of opening up I woke at 3am last night and scribbled this down. Often I can make no sense next day but this was very clear. My poems lead to artwork and vice versa.
For St. Valentine's Day.
Lovesong for the Earth
I laid down my heart on the Earth
in a mossy place - emerald jewel on the emerald green
Know me and please let me know you.
I pressed my heart into the nobbly roots of a tree
where their surfaces touched me.
Into the cracks in the bark - thesmell of woodland not of park.
I felt the green pulsing just beneath barky skin
let me know you and please know me.
All my life you've been my love
in daisies, grasses, leaves and flowers.
I think you've given me my fairest hours.
In all your forms I love you
but I have only this one to share with you.
I long to know you
for of all those I've given my heart to
you are always true.
