So, as another way of opening up I woke at 3am last night and scribbled this down. Often I can make no sense next day but this was very clear. My poems lead to artwork and vice versa.

For St. Valentine's Day.

Lovesong for the Earth
I laid down my heart on the Earth
in a mossy place - emerald jewel on the emerald green
Know me and please let me know you.

I pressed my heart into the nobbly roots of a tree
where their surfaces touched me.
Into the cracks in the bark - thesmell of woodland not of park.
I felt the green pulsing just beneath barky skin
let me know you and please know me.

All my life you've been my love
in daisies, grasses, leaves and flowers.
I think you've given me my fairest hours.
In all your forms I love you
but I have only this one to share with you.
I long to know you
for of all those I've given my heart to
you are always true.

12 February 2010 Kay Leverton©

So... it's been a long hard Winter here with masses of snow and being blocked in our house and thrown onto other ways of being. I have to say I quite enjoyed the forced isolation. At the same time our computer was eaten from the inside by some freaks nasty plan even though we've had so much security, so couldn't even get online.
Now I'm back in motion and have just entered 16 pieces of work into a large National Art Comp'. Made my first sale of a Painting for 2010, Whoo hoo Tiger so am coming back to life as are the bulbs and things in the garden. My husband is away so am on my own clock and now going to have breakfast otherwise I may fall over. I want to welcome you all to my world which varies from wacky, mystical and magical to the most mundane daily trivia. I am doing this with a background of huge bangs, it's Bonfire night here so whoossh, whizzz and bang to all. I try to be positive all the time but I'm only human or so I'm told and so have my moments of self doubt and just plain fedupness when frustrated by stuff beyond my control.

I'm trying to start some new artwork and the images are stuck out on the horizon somewhere not ready to show themselves yet.

So.....I thought I'd get on and begin this long put off project. I've been thinking about starting a Blog for some time and thought it would be hard and what would I say but I think editing the inner idiot will be the tricky bit.

I want to tell you about my first book which is a biggy for me and which I've been going to do for two years. I thank all the friends who have hung in with me through the difficulties of the last year. Good news is I just had an all clear scan at the hospital last month so Yippee.

So.... now I have published a small, neat book called " Life is but a Dream" in Blurb.com. It contains 40 pages of my drawings, paintings and poems. Friends have been asking for this for a long time so I finally did it and am thrilled with how it's come out. Even better, those who have seen it and bought it so far are really delighted as well.

You can see it on the Blurb.com where you can see all 40 pages and then buy a copy if you so wish. If you are in the UK you can get a signed copy from me with a free Bookmark and greetings card "my artwork" of course with the first 50 copies sold if you go to the contact page on my website.

I have to go now as my eyes are going strange.
